Here at the studios things are winding down for the season, and thought you all would like to see some of the things we worked on...

I made Cristina and Robert's pocketfold invitations early this year. Cristina wanted the same tags that were on her invitations to be on her programs, so here they are...These are cool tags because they can be used for favor tags as well.

Cristin and Bryan also got pocketfold invitations, but I love the design of the invitation card that went inside so much that I wanted to highlight it on its own.

Janice and Tom were just married yesterday, and I worked in collaboration with the brides sister Cathy John of Cathy John Design Studio. She created the letterpress covers, and I did the printing and assembly of the inserts. They came out simply stunning!

Marissa and her mom came up with the design of her wedding invitations. We used a deep champagne colored cardstock with midnight blue printing and backing. The thermograph ink looked amazing on this tea length invitation.

Kodie wanted a white invitation with accents of brick red and black. The pocketfold that we used was a shimmery with a lined texture to it. They came out Niiiice!

This was my favorite of the season. Melissa and Chad had a hard time deciding on a color palette for their labor weekend wedding. We started with eggplant and coral, next was an autumn palette of gold, brown, red, and burt orange. Finally Melissa decided on Tiffany Blue and hues of pink. This square pocketfold is what we finally decided on, and wow! I love it!

My first baptism invitation! We used a shimmery white cardstock and printed in a simple black ink. The cross motiff is simple but very elegantly adorned with a small Swarovski crystal. We used platinum colored envelopes instead of a plain old white one.

Rachel and Michael were also married this weekend. Rachel found me on Etsy, and we were able to design this all over email. We also did a similiar Save the Date. This invitation is so sleek, it was perfect for the couples Malibu wedding.

I haven't posted a Real Wedding feature in awhile, and I am so excited to show off this wedding I was able to work on from earlier this year.

Stefanie and Nathan were one of the coolest couples that I've been able to work with. They were so laid back, and very very kind. I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of the photos from their wedding...It ended up being amazing (I knew they would), and you can see for yourself that every detail came out beautiful.

I have been, needless to say, a little missing in action these days...I have been having a whirlwind of emotions that I thought I'd explain. In October I graduated from grad school, my parents relocated to a new town, the relationship I thought was going to last a lifetime ended, I started dating again, I got ripped off by 3 separate clients!, I nearly went bankrupt, and sometimes I feel completely lost and discouraged! Though my circumstances have been up and down these past few months, I still feel very optimistic that things will turn out exactly the way I want them to and I am officially turning over a new leaf in both my personal and professional life...One of the first things I've been working on is myself. My mind, body, and spirit all need some improvement and slowly but surely I am getting to a better place. I started working out a few nights a week, I'm surrounding myself with positive friends - old and new, and I'm watching my diet. The second thing and the most exciting thing that I am going to do in just a few weeks is have a personal boudoir session done by Jones Photo Art. I think that this is going to do wonders for my self esteem and I can't wait to show you all the final photos! I really want my business to be successful, so I am strategically revising my business model to better suit my client base. So in a nutshell, that's what's been going on! It helps me to write about it and get it all out in the open. I know that things will turn around, I just hope it's sooner than later!

Postage Rate Increase

In case you haven't heard, the US Postal Service raised their first class stamp rates to $ 0.44. If you bought a stash of the Forever stamps with the bells on them, your in luck - they are still good to use.

This leads me into a series of Frequently Asked Questions about invitations that I have been dying to answer!

How much is it going to cost to send out our invitations?
This can really only be answered by an aficionado at the post office. More than likely they will cost more than an average letter or greeting card because of size and weight.
I would suggest that once you have your invitation suite in hand, to have it weighed and measured so that you are not in shock when you are ready for mailing. Since your invitations are more delicate than most other mailings, I would suggest that you splurge and have them hand canceled instead of having then sent through the post office machinery. Some post office won't even charge you extra.

Do I have to put a stamp on my rsvp envelope?

You don't have to do anything BUT if you are expecting your guests to actually send them back a stamp is a good idea. Since this card is generally smaller than the actual invitation, using a standard first class stamp should do the trick.

It's been a crazy crazy past few weeks, and I finally have proof that I have been working! Take a look at some of the jobs orders that I have finished recently...

Veronica and Simon are having a sophisticated wedding set with coppers, creams, and indigo. We came up with the most beautiful Save the Date, and it was hard to come up with an invitation idea that would compliment it but not be exactly the same. We came up with this beautiful pocket fold invitaton with Midori ribbon and Swaroski crstal accents. Love it!

Molly and Josh are having an outdoors wedding at the stunning Bishop's Lodge in Santa Fe. Molly definatley wanted to stick with a sunflower motiff, as this will be the 'theme' that is carried throughout the wedding. Her colors are clover and white, and together we came up with this simple, but elegant invitation to match.

My first quincenera invitation was for Evelynn, whe is turning 15 in May. I was excited to take on this job for 2 reasons; 1. It's the first quincenera that I've done from start to finish and 2. because the family of from a small town called Socorro, New Mexico and I was excited to branch into new territory in the state. Anyway, Evelynn is a girl who knows what she likes and she loved this turquiose pocketfold invitation white linen inserts and thermo ink. On the cover we choose to use a hot pink border and a Swaroski crystal accent.

Estella and I met in our College of Santa Fe days, and she is having a Black and White Ball to celebrate her upcoming MBA graduation. This piece is sooo totally different than the standard issued college gradation invite! I love it! It also gave me the chance to show of some super cool fonts that I recently purchased. Congrats Stella! I still haven't decided if I'll be walking the line with you all...

Betty and Larry are an older couple who wanted something simple, but elegant. I think that these ecru linen and teal invitations fit the bill. We used thermo ink in black and teal and then attached the invitation facecard to another teal layer of cardstock.

In November, I started to freak out because the phone stopped ringing! I had been working on invitations pretty steadily since January, and then it just stopped. I was totally unprepared for the down time... BUT it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I had finished graduate school in October and I (unbeknown'st to me) needed a break. Fast forward to January - the phone and email requests are pouring in and I feel so much better about the direction the business is heading in. I've done a few quick Save the Date sets, and I've just delivered the third major job of the season! It may not sound too impressive, but I have about 20 more in the works for May, June, and July brides. So folks, hold on to your hats! Wait until you see what's coming. The brides that I have been working with are so unique and have some amazing ideas.

In the mean time, here's a peek at the season so far:

Melinda and Clayton - This one is near and dear to my heart as it was my first big Etsy sale. Melinda chose an invitation with a vellum overlay in champagne and navy. I used the design from the overlay to make some pretty incredible place cards as well.

Stefani and Nathan - I think that this was the nicest, coolest couple I have so far! Their colors are chocolate and Tiffany blue. After 3 years this color combo is still going strong. I LOVE this design!

Jennifer and Javier - I think that this invitation is so cool! It's a program style invitation that includes all of the pertinent information on the back cover. The bride really wanted to eliminate the amount of inserts that her guests would receive, and so the only thing included was an rsvp. I love the polka dot ribbon on this - even though it took a bazillion years to get here and caused a ton of unnecessary stress. The invitation is really based on her whimsical cake design. Her wedding in not until August, but she has already promised the pics! I can't wait!

Do you all know about Seth Goodman Photography? I have mentioned him a few times, and have featured some of his work on my blog but you haven't seen anything until you have seen the beautiful shots that he recently sent over to recap some of his 2008 weddings. Man, I love his work! He is the best at getting the money shot...you know the one that brings tears to your eyes even if you don't know who the couple is. He really is an expert at showing the couples love. Anyway, you have to check out his blog to see some of his real weddings! He puts them in montages that are set to music. They really are something to see! I recently had the chance to probe Seth for some of his thoughts, and thought that I would share.

1. Besides the usual questions about cost, what are the top three questions that potential clients ask?
Clients typically want to know if they get black and white and other manipulated photos with their photos. I typically pick out up to a quarter of their images and will add those artistic touches. They also want to know what my shooting style is. I love being a fly on the wall, and making the photos as they naturally happen. I try to always carry to cameras, one for natural light and one flash. Then I don't have to use the flash as much, which allows me to be as unobtrusive as possible. Of course there is always times when we need to do some formal posing. Brides and Grooms also want to know where is the best spot for engagement session. My response is typically what do you like to do together. If you like to go on hikes then maybe the foothills or the bosque. Or if you are into going out then maybe downtown or nob hill. There are so many beautiful places around here. The trick is finding one that matches your personality.

2. How quickly are you able to have proofs completed for your clients?
The photos are posted online in a week or two and then the physical proofs come in a week or so after that.

3. What is your favorite part about weddings?
I really like the toast. It's really fun to hear what friends and family have to say about the bride and groom. Some my favorite photos come from the toast.

4. As a small business owner what has been your and/or your business' greatest accomplishment?
I really like the fact that I have created photos that people will cherish for the rest of their lives and hopefully for generations to come.

5. Please think of something clever to say! I can't think of a 5th one!
When I meet old friends and they find out that I am wedding photographer their reaction is typically "wow that must stressful." It really isn't that stressful. At times your equipment can do wacky things, but that is why I always carry at least to back ups of everything I need to shoot a wedding. The hardest part of doing this job is the many hours in front a computer editing the images. My goal is to give my clients the absolute best photos possible.

I can't even think of anything to say about this wedding! Well, except for maybe - Stunning! Michelle and her mom were amazing to work with during their planning process. Michelle knew exactly what she wanted, which is always very helpful, and was willing to do a lot of work herself. She was the perfect DIY candidate. She is crafty, and a bit of a perfectionist! Together we designed her pocketfold invites, programs, place cards, seating chart, thank you cards, and table signs. Like her wedding, the suite was stunning!

Check this out...this is so exciting! Back in December I got a call from a reporter from the Albuquerque Journal asking a ton a questions about my business and ongoing trends that I was seeing. I was happy to answer, but really didn't think much about what it was for. Later the same reporter asked if I could send over some pictures, and I put it together that there was a chance that I would be featured....I never said anything because I just wasn't sure if it was going to happen. Yesterday was the day though! In the Albuquerque Journal, I was featured in what turned out to be a great article on what was happening locally in the invitation world! Real Wedding: Angelique and Robert

Robert and Angelique began planning their wedding in 2007 and had a hard time finding the perfect stationery. After tirelessly looking through huge invitation books at a couple of stationery shops, Robert was lucky to stumble upon my business cards at Fremont's. He called me immediately, and I met with the couple within days. Once we met, I knew almost instantly that this was going to be a great couple and a fabulous wedding! Together we created the most elegant, regal almost, invitations! I also did coordinating thank you cards, menus, special bridesmaid and groomsmen thank you cards, programs, and they talked me into doing their day of coordination. They didn't have to twist my arm either, because this event was not to be missed!

I can't believe how fast this year flew by! and even more so these last few holiday weeks! This holiday season I've been more sentimental than usual and I've taken some time to reflect on the past years ups and downs. As they were happening the downs were pretty devastating and the ups were very exciting. I was/am lucky enough to share those times with some really great old friends and some new ones too. Thanks to everyone who made 2008 my most successful year yet! I can't wait to find out what's in store for next year!

In the Studio

I just realized that I haven't been keeping you current with what's happening with me in the studio. Here are a few pics of some jobs that I just finished.

Let the Good Times Roll-these are some Christmas Open House invitations for my best friend Becky. Her and her husband host a wonderful party each year to celebrate the holidays and her birthday which is on Dec. 23rd. Both have been obsessed with New Orleans since they honeymooned there 10 years ago, and this year they decided on a Mardi Gras themed holiday party and chose the obvious gold, purple, and green as their colors. Should be a super fun time!

Baby Squared- These fun contempory baby shower invitations were created for my friend Monica's neice who is excitedly awaiting twin boys.

Torkelson Farm- Was created for one of my favorite clients who's father is turning the big 9-0 in January. This farm scene charicture was a collaboration between me and Felicia (beloved website guru). We took the past times that Mr. Torkelson enjoys and incorporated into one picture, and I am sure that he'll have a good laugh when he sees it!

While browsing through Facebook, I found a vendor that I am so excited to feature. Original Runners makes the most intricate and beautiful runners that I have ever seen! Just look at these photos! Recently, I had a chance to ask Julie Goldman, the mastermind behind Original Runners, some questions about her products and her booming business. Here's what she had to say:

Your aisle runners are so fantastic! Do you develop the artwork yourself, or do you find that most brides have their own logo or monogram that they would like to use?

We can either replicate a design that a client is already using for their event or create something new for them in house. Our team of designers can work with a client’s invitation, linens or even cake topper to come up with a design that will bring the whole event together down the aisle.

With recent orders, or upcoming 2009 orders what are the most popular trends that you're seeing?

We are seeing that brides want their aisle runner to not only be beautiful but unique as possible. The trend right now is incorporating invitation design into the aisle runner so that the programs, menus and aisle runner all have the same theme. It makes for a gorgeous synergy throughout all the bride’s vendors.

You're website is very informative, but what are a few things that potential clients frequently ask?

Many clients ask if they can have any color they want for their monograms and the answer is YES. We can color match to even the smallest swatch so that all the pieces of the event are color coordinated. We are also frequently asked about pricing for our custom aisle runner but this is not as easy to answer. All of our custom aisle runners are hand drawn and hand painted so the length of the aisle and the complexity of the design will determine the price of the product. Since we are constantly creating brand new designs for each client there are no set prices for custom work.

What was the most challenging job that you've had so far?

We recently designed a plaid runner with a family crest for a bride and it required a substantially amount of math and taping to create something this amazing. We are very proud of the results and I am attaching a picture so you can see it too.

From a small business owners perspective, what has been your and/or your business most exciting accomplishment?

Since the day we launched we have been profitable and that almost never happens. We were very lucky to have an aisle runner featured on Lifetime television and the Bachelorette wedding within the first three months of launching. This enabled us to promote our business and create a buzz even though we were a brand new company.

Christmas shopping? Don't forget about your wedding!

As I was out shopping on Black Friday, I noticed that the traditional Christmas colors of Red and Green or Silver and Blue are not necessarily the norm anymore. In fact, every year I have a different color scheme for wrapping and home décor. This year I am using black, white, and red. Last year I used plum and red, and the year before that it was pink, red, and silver. Anyway, while I was shopping I found so many things that any bride could use, and with all of the holiday sales the prices were amazing. So while you’re Christmas shopping look out for some things that you can use at your wedding like candles, stemware, linens, favor bags or tags, favors, wedding party gifts, chargers, frames, place card holders...just to name a few (the list goes on and on!). These photos are from the Target, Cost Plus, and Pier One websites.

Oh and ladies, this is the perfect time to start gathering all of your guests addresses! Try to remember to hit up family members for the addresses that are on their greeting card lists. Immediately put them in your bridal book, or enter them into a spreadsheet so when it comes time for addressing your invitations you'll be ahead of the game.

I hope that everyone has the best day today filled with turkey, family, and good times! Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday, and at this time each year I start to become very sentimental and reflect back on the events of the year and all that I am grateful for. Here's my top list (in no particular order):

Christopher for always keeping me in check and putting all of daily crisis' into perspective.
My two big brothers and parents, for being more supportive of everything that I do than anyone else. I'll throw my nieces and nephews into this one too....
I am grateful that I have a job, and work with people that I absolutely adore!
The movies, that will be a nice distraction later when we all get sick of each other :)
For my little business, that has given me confidence and so many wonderful opportunities and clients that keep my on my toes by challenging me in so many different ways.
My oldest favorite friends who have been my personal cheerleaders since forever.

Real Wedding: Jeanette and Brandon

I knew when I met Jeanette that I would be in for a treat! Not only were invitations on the "to-do" list, but so were Save the Dates. For those, we designed a fantastic postcard that was made to look like a black and white newspaper classified ad. We used some of the couples engagement photos that where taken by Laura Kay Photography, and each ad was a real life event that occured between them. The picture was posted earlier on the new website sneak preview blog. The invitations were also featured before in a previous blog called "green splendor." This design was the brain candy of Jeanette. She found a picture of an invitation on the knot that she adored, but wanted to change it to make it her own and that we did. Jeanette and Brandon were married in late October at a world reknown golf course in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico. After getting to know the bride, I knew that each detail of her wedding would be absolutely unbelievable, and I was right. She sent over these pictures the other day, and the took my breathe away. Here are the details, with some in the brides words:

Colors - Shamrock green, black, and white
Ceremony and reception venue - Paa-ko Ridge Golf Course
Photography - Laura Kay Photography

We used Laura Kay Photography for pictures. She is based out of Washington, DC/Virginia and shoots local photography (in/around their area) and travels for special event photography. We chose her because she doesn't just take traditional pictures, her photography is art and captures all the special moments at different angles. Plus, we are related! She is fantastic!

Flowers - The Flower Gallery

I worked with Judy who was so creative and knowledgable about floral arrangements. We did not want traditional arrangements, so she worked with us to create something unique. They will work within any budget.

Invitations - Elva Marie's Fine Paper

For invitations and save the date cards we used... well... you! We could not be more pleased with the invitation and save the date! We got soooo many compliments on the creativity and uniqueness of both. Elva worked with me endlessly until she created the perfect invitation. I found an idea online, and Elva recreated it. Plus, she worked within my budget, and I saved money by assembling the invites myself. Thank you so much for setting the tone for my guests so perfectly as to what to expect during the wedding.

Cake - Cakes by Lisa

I was fortunate to have a friend who bakes and creates wedding cakes! Lisa, at Cakes by Lisa, is so creative and will create anything you ask! I wanted a cake with white fondant. On top of the fondant and down the cake, Lisa recreated the floral design that was on the invitations. She even used the same color scheme as the invitations. Each tier was a different flavor, our favorites, red velvet, lemon poppyseed, and oreo. Not only was the cake delicious, the design was perfect.

Congratulations again, Jeanette and Brandon! I hope that you have a life time of joy and hapiness. Thank you for letting me play a tiny role in your fantastic celebration.

Real Wedding: Laura and Matt

I have finally recieved some photos from one of favorite weddings this year. I previously wrote about Laura and her mom Joanne, and showed a picture of their "Pretty in Pink Polka Dots" invitation design. When all was done their order included invitations, programs, table names, escort cards, thank you cards, favor bags and custom seals, candy signs, and rehearsal dinner invitations. I had so much fun working with these two, and even had the oppurtunity to work at the actual event by setting up table names and escort cards. I even stuck around to help guests find their seats. I am so excited to finally post my first real wedding from New Mexico. I met Ally and her mom, Jan, in the early part of this year, and was fortunate to be able to add some special touches to their big day. Since Ally lives and works in Denver, Jan ended up doing most of the planning. Everything had to be just right, so we spent a lot of time making decisions on designs, colors, and fonts and we ended up making invitations, programs, escort cards, menus, and table signs. Since we started so early in the design process, Jan had enough time to do all of the assembly herself. Which was awesome because it gave me a little break, and it saved Jan some serious dough!

All of these beautiful photos were taken by Dry Heat Photography. Rick and Deanna knew exactly what to do to capture the exquiste details of this formal affair. Speaking of exquisite affair, did I mention that Karen from Celebrations! Weddings and Events was the day of coordinator? Featured Vendor: Toppers with Glitz

Sometime last year I got in touch with Sari from Toppers with Glitz, because I absolutely loved her cake toppers. I was drawn to the sparkly crystals and beautiful monograms, and I wanted to somehow tell the world about them. After such a chaotic wedding season and school schedule, I have been back in touch with Sari and the honor of my first vendor feature will go to her and her blooming business! Here are a few questions that I asked her recently to find out what is hot in her studio right now!

Do you recommend that your clients have their cake in mind before they contact you or do you find that most of your clients design their cake around their topper?

Like most of my customers, and probably not unlike other designers, I love to have visuals to work with. If I can see the cake, I typically get an immediate picture of "the perfect topper" for it. Making sure the entire cake will look good is always the top priority and most of my customers welcome the input, even if they end up taking a different direction than they initially planned. Hopefully their baker can do the same if the topper is purchased first.

With recent orders, or upcoming 2009 orders what are the most popular color trends that you're seeing?

Tiffany blue was a big color this year and I am curious to see if it will still be big for '09. I am seeing a lot of champagne and ivory,and LOVE the outcome. Swarovski has some really beautiful soft browns that blend extremely well together - Light Colorado Topaz is one of my all time favorites.

You're website is very informative, but what are a few things that potential clients frequently ask?

Hands down, the most frequent question I get asked is with regard to colors. There are so many colors and so many combinations that can be made, it's just not possible for me to address them all on the website.I welcome the questions, phone or email, and am happy to work with each bride, case by case. I also offer complimentary samples so that they colors can be seen in person and matched to their other items.

What was the most challenging job that you've had so far?

I did a table stand for a candle lighting ceremony that was 5" tall and measured almost 2 feet long (pictured above). I had plenty of time to make it but really underestimated how long it would take to crystal. It was the largest item I have taken on to date.

From a small business owners perspective, what has been your and/or your business most exciting accomplishment?

Last year Topper With Glitz was invited to participate in Swarovski's wedding showcase "Unbridaled". I didn't believe I was selected until I saw my products featured in the coffee-table book; a beautiful hard-cover book with designers like "Vera Wang" and "Fendi". The U.S. launch, a red carpet event, is taking place in New York later this year. I dare to dream big but I don't know how much bigger I can dream than this!

Furthermore, Sari goes on to say "I am always trying to expand my product line with relevant items that help complete a coordinated look. Last year I added server sets and bouquet monograms. This year I have added cake trim and toasting flutes."

Since I've been blogging pretty regularly lately, I've been doing a lot of thinking and comparison "blogging" to find out what people are really interested in reading about. Here's a closer look at the centerpieces that I did for the Perfect Wedding Guide Customer Appreciation Party in September. I got the idea from Martha Stewart and Mommy Makes Roses. Each rose is made from a total of 8 coffee filters, handpainted with watercolors, and then each petal is curled. The end result was amazing, but it was a lot of work, I mean a lot of work! Next time I'll buy them straight from the source! Here are the MS instructions if you'd like to give it a whirl. When I was little I was drawn to purple. I used to wear an outfit that consisted of light lavender pants, a drk. purple "Where's the Beef" t-shirt, drk. purple sock, light purple velcro tennis shoes, and purple yarn hair ties. I get a ton of inquiries to do beach themed invites, and until recently I've been a bit hesitant to try my hand in designing them. I have never lived by an ocean, and haven't really considered myself "one with the sea." Awesome Accessories

Check out these last minute details that I finished tonight for a couple that is getting married on Saturday. In the end I did their invites, escort cards, menus, table signs, and seat numbers. The latter of which is kind of unusual, but in this instance each guest was assigned a table and a number that was indicated on the escort card. Instead of having a place card at each setting we made numbers that will hang from each guests chair. I can't wait to see how it all turns out! Congratulations Elaina and Matt!

The Perfect Dress

Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her excitement -- not even her parents' nasty divorce.

Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the best dressed mother-of-the-bride ever!

A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new young wife had bought the exact same dress as her mother!

Jennifer asked her step mom to exchange it, but she refused.'Absolutely not. I look like a million bucks in this dress, and I'm wearing it,' she replied.

Jennifer told her mother who graciously said, 'Never mind sweetheart. I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day.'

A few days later, they went shopping and did find another gorgeous dress. When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, 'Aren't you going to return the other dress? You really don't have another occasion where you could wear it.'

Her mother just smiled and replied, 'Of course I do, dear. I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding.’

Sneak Preview

This is the first year that I have had a real "wedding season," and I have to admit I was a little overwhelmed! It's so exciting to watch my little business grow, and I crazily get really emotional thinking about all of my succeses. Last year I met this great girl Felicia, who totally got me and designed my website and has been so supportive and a great friend. Now that the sight is about a year old, and I've been growing so much we decided to do some major updates, including a whole new gallery. Here's a preview... PS. DIY Brides Beware!

About a month ago I received a call from a frantic bride who had started (with good intentions) to create her wedding invitations for her upcoming July wedding. Without having a solid design in mind, they consulted with many members of their family to come up with the perfect idea. Unfortunately having too many inputs and not enough patience or decisiveness the couple sought out help from a local designer. Me :) At our consultation they handed me a stack of photos, and vellum overlays for 200 invites and using what I had on hand I came up with the design above. Thanks to my new awesome assistant Margie, we had these finished in no time and the couple was so grateful! The lessons to be learned from this story are for all you do-it-yourselfers out there; 1. Start your projects with plenty of time! 2. Have a firm solid idea before you start anything. Sometimes your original vision won't play out well when executed, but at least you have a foundation to start on. Be flexible when it doesn't go according to plan. 3. When seeking advice, stick to asking just a small handful of folks that you can count on to be honest and objective. 4. It doesn't hurt to seek advice from a local designer. Check out these super luxurious wedding invitations that I designed for an upcoming July wedding. Using an Envelopments® signature Pocket-fold™ in Willow, together the bride and I created this invitation that has certainly set the tone for what has promised to be an elegant and formal event. The best part about this design is that through it I have made two new friends. The bride and her mother were just lovely as we consulted on every detail. To top things off, this was a DIY project! Just like the Save the Dates in my previous post, each component was carefully measured, cut, and printed and assembly was left for the client! DIY-my new favorite acronym.

I love finding a good deal, but I especially love being able to offer one. Lately I've had a ton of inquires from brides that want to have custom invitations designed for their event, but they may have a smaller budget and are afraid that no such thing exists. Well I am happy to say that I've put an end to that myth, and am offering just that - custom designed invites and accessories that won't break the bank. There is one catch though, you have to put them together yourself. Here's a preview of a Save the Date that I just delivered. I provided the printed card, the background card, rhinestones, magnets, and all of the adhesive that was needed. The bride simply put it all together! I can't show you the whole thing because they haven't been sent yet!

Who knew that a wedding program would have such a great effect on things. Check out these dramatic pics from infamous Albuquerque photographer Seth Goodman. You can imagine my surprise when I came across these photos while viewing the online gallery of a recent client. Camilla and Sean were married on April 19th at the San Felipe de Neri church in Old Town. I was fortunate enough to create all of the wedding stationery that was used at this wedding including save the dates, invitations, programs, place cards, seating chart, thank you notes, and food signs. Instead of carrying an ordinary flower basket, the flower girls carried small bouquets inside of 2 beautiful Swarovski jewel encrusted petal cones. To top things off, the custom logo that I created for the couple was carried throughout the event and was even shined on the wall at the reception!
